I have talked about Kastan in recent pages, but really never explained it. Kastan is Ukrainian Folk Dance. My friends in Kastan are great and supportive. This has a lot of great values to it. Ancestors have danced these dances many times before us. I will show you the fantastic pictures of these dances and I will explain them all. :}
I am Megan734 in the chat rooms and I will answer all your questions!
Isn't that picture perfect? Absolutely! This is Hopak. Hopak is the most traditional dance I know. Everyone Ukrainian knows about it. I really love this dance!! It represents good harvest and wealth. I love the music to this dance. At the very bottom of the page, there will soon be a playlist of Ukrainan music.
Now, this is the dance Kozachok. I did it this year and it was a blast. I do not know what it represents. Notice the TRYZUB in the backround? This was probably preformed at a Ukrainian Festival.
I know this was preformed in the Kozak Suite. This dance is traditional. This dance represents men going to and returning from war. This dance is MY personal favorite. I love it and so do many others. Want to see the dance? Here it is:

Unforuanatly, I could not find an exact symbol of Kastan, but this is very similar. A lot of people in my dance group where these shirts to our dance practices.
